How It Works
Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture is a gentle, effective, and safe way to combat the signs of aging without the risk or downtime of surgery or injections. When done as part as a regular program of skin care, it can ameliorate the appearance of crows feet, sagging jowls, and droopy eyelids before they happen. Once these signs of aging do begin to appear, needles can be used to increase collagen production, tone muscles, improve circulation, and brighten a dull complexion.
As we age, the 57 muscles in the face gradually lose their tone and mass causing the sagging, deep wrinkling and tired look associated with aging. Needles placed at acupuncture points stimulate the muscle function, and the face lifts itself returning it to a healthier, revitalized, more youthful appearance. The needles placed in the wrinkles create a micro trauma, which causes collagen to be produced.
As early as the Sung Dynasty (960AD-1270AD) acupuncture rejuvenation practices were employed for the Empress and the Emperors. Recently Acupuncture Facial Rejuvenation was demonstrated on the Dr. Oz show. (http://www.doctoroz.com/videos/acupuncture-facelift)
